Моя учёба в Университете.
Student life - what can sounds more exciting for a young person? Many people have been waiting this time since school. Then the school-leavers shall pass the entrance exams. And finally, one turns from an applicant into a first-year student. I did it! I entered; I got in to the university! Do you remember this feeling? I do.
But just to pass the exams – it’s not quite enough, because we need to definite our objects in the life. The world is full of specialties and professions, that’s why everyone can find something for himself. I've been looking myself, my calling, my profession.
Finally, all thoughts are left behind and everyone has chosen what he liked most. I, too. The first thing every student will face at the first day (for some it is 1of September, for others it's 1 of January or December) is a teaching staff. How many people work for the sake of our education: professors, assistant professors, senior lectures, lectures, tutors, heads of departments, subdeans and the dean. What respectable people are they! And don’t forget about the rector or the vice-rector. All of them come every day for us.
As for me, my name is Marina Gheorghienko. I’m 24 years old. I live and study in Tiraspol. It is one of the oldest towns in our region. It is located on the Dniester River and is the capital of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. There are many universities, institutions and colleges in Tiraspol and the city is full of students. However, I chose to study in one of the biggest universities in the city, the Taras Shevchenko State University of Pridnestrovye. I know that many teenagers dream of studying here but the entrance exams are not easy.
The University is very old, it was founded in 1930 in the centre of the capital of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic – Tiraspol. It was named for the talented writer, poet and artist Taras Shevchenko . The establishment has developed rapidly since then, now it has become one of the largest universities of Pridnestrovye. At present the University has 4 institutes, 8 faculties and 2 departments. Here there are more than one thousand highly qualified techers training over 12 thousand students in 80 directions and trends according to Russian standards.
The University provides the students with a high standard of theoretical and practical knowledge. There is a Scientific library, sport club “Record”, 4 museums, the Botanical Garden, the cultural centre and other facilities. Tre studies are held in 12 educational buildings with large and light lecture halls, study rooms, laboratoriers, reading rooms and up-to-date computer classes and centres. The library provides all the students with necessary literature. The electronic library is functioning too.
I’m sure that studying at Taras Shevchenko State University of Pridnestrovye will give me much knowledge, in theory and practice, and prepare me for effective and interesting work.
